Womentum: the first female-focused accelerator in the Middle East and North Africa

26 April, 2018

Womentum is the Middle East and North Africa (MENA)’s first female founder early-stage startup accelerator, which was set up by the angel investment group, Womena.

Womentum will be an intensive four month programme for early-stage startups that have a gender-diverse team with at least one female co-founder; are developing an innovative and scalable tech product; have a proof of concept and an existing prototype; are based in or operating in the MENA market; and have between six months and two years’ worth of operations.

The aim of the accelerator will be to aid startups in building their businesses and gaining the traction needed in regional markets. They will also get unique exposure through the Womedia platform.

Participants will get a customised curriculum of support and training based on their needs. Other benefits include:

• One-on-one mentoring with experts, coaches and consultants from Berlin, Dubai and local markets

• Regional marketing and exposure through a web series

• Introductions to Womena’s network of investors and access to Impact Hub Berlin’s Network

• A free co-working package for the top three graduating companies

Kicking off the programme will be an immersive experience of Berlin’s innovative ecosystem with Impact Hub Berlin, followed by a remote execution phase with virtual mentorship, and finally a rotation and demo day in Dubai.

The deadline for applications is 1 May 2018. More information can be found here and on their website.
