Personal data protection


The website WEgate is committed to user privacy.

You can browse freely through the website WEgate without giving any information about yourself.

However, in some cases, personal information may be required in order to use some functionality as explained below.


1.     What information do we collect?


The information collected is the following:


  • Registration to the directory as an individual user:


Mandatory information: first name, surname, username, e-mail address, country, personal position, sector.

Optional information: profile picture, company size, phone number, number of employees, years of existence of the company, Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, website, time zone, preferred language, second preferred language.

Note: It is possible to hide the personal information and/or the professional information. Individuals have the option to be visible for all users or only for registered users.


  • Support requests/questions/feedback to WEgate:


Mandatory information: name, e-mail address.


  • Registration to the WEgate newsletter:


Mandatory information: e-mail address, first name, last name/ company name

New registered users to the WEgate e-platform and non-registered visitors in contact with the WEgate secretariat receive the latest issue of the WEgate newsletter for information, to which they can decide to subscribe through a specific link in the newsletter.


  • Feedback to WEgate newsletter:


           We would like to know what you think about the WEgate content and the newsletter. Please provide your feedback via the contact form.


2.     Who has access to your personal data/who is it disclosed to?


Other users (registered or not) can see your personal information if you choose so.


As for the enquiries, they are stored through an online form set up by the WEgate operator Mostra SA.


Mostra SA acts as data processor under the supervision of EASME, the data controller, pursuant to the service contract concluded with EASME.


No personal data is shared with third parties.

It may be possible that the WEgate website and newsletter contain links to other websites whose information practices may be different from this site. Neither the WEgate, or the EASME, or the European Commission or the European Union is necessarily responsible for the privacy practices within any of these other sites. You should be aware of this when you leave the website WEgate and we encourage you to read the privacy statements on other web sites you visit, as we have no control over information that is submitted to, or collected by, these third parties.


3.     How do we protect and safeguard your personal data?


Your personal information is treated according to the Directive 95/46/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 24 October 1995 and on the Act of 8 December 1992 on the protection of privacy in relation to the processing of personal data (Privacy Act) and its modifications of the Kingdom of Belgium.


As operator of WEgate, the contractor, Mostra SA, responsible for replying to your enquiry or for technical matters, has access to your personal data by entering a user ID and a password on WEgate, and for the WEgate newsletter, by entering your e-mail address, name and/or company name.



4.     How can you access, rectify or delete your personal data?


The right to access, rectify or cancel personal data shall be exercised, pursuant to Chapter III of the above mentioned Belgian Privacy Act , on written request via our web-form and will be processed at the earliest convenience.

If you do not want to receive the newsletter anymore, please click on ‘unsuscribe’ at the bottom of the newsletter. If you want to change your personal data regarding the newsletter, for example change your email address, you can contact us via here.


5.     How long is your personal data kept?


The data you supplied will be deleted if your account is inactive for five years.


All personal data received and stored are erased after five years.


WEgate reserves its right to modify this Privacy Notice at any time. Any modification about this privacy notice will be updated in this web site to inform users.
