The Business Information System (BIS) is a joint initiative of the Finnish Patent and Registration Office and the Finnish Tax Administration. It offers Finns the opportunity to get on the Trade Register; the Register of Foundations; the VAT Register; and the Prepayment and Employer Register. The BIS also provides support and information on how to start a business, as well as how to close a business and have it removed from the registers. Finally, the BIS website also offers users the opportunity to search for basic information on companies on the above registers using their company search engine.
