EU Common Commercial Policy

As an importer or exporter, you will be affected by the common commercial policy. It aims to apply common principles with regard to changes in tariff rates, tariff and trade agreements, import and export policy and measures to protect trade. In order to ensure competition between the European Union (EU) countries, customs duties between them have been abolished. Also, the EU’s common commercial policy is based on a common external tariff applied to all EU countries.

Trade and investment in and out of the EU is managed under the EU trade policy. It aims to open up markets with key partner countries (through free trade agreements for example), ensuring a fair and open trade and making sure everyone respects the rules.
