The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) offers financing for large-scale private sector projects in the form of loans or equity. The average EBRD investment is €25 million. Formed in 1991, the bank was initially set up to support former Eastern bloc countries in the development of their private sectors. It is now active in over 30 countries across central Europe and Asia.
